On December 24th, the Fourth International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition opened at Hangzhou Polytechnic in both online and offline channels. More than 50 leaders and experts attended the opening ceremony, including Sun Lining,foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, Jia Qingwei, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Chen Da, Division Chief of Vocational and Adult Education of the Zhejiang Education Department. Xie Liewei, Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a speech and announced the opening of the competition.
Xie Liewei introduced the general situation of Hangzhou Polytechnic and the preparations for the competition. He pointed out that under the guidance of the “two-step strategy, striving for excellence,” and with the strong support and careful guidance from the Zhejiang Education Department, Hangzhou Polytechnic has actively carried out the preparatory work for the competition, firmly confident and focused on breakthroughs, and made efforts to promote the talent cultivation and innovative development in the field of artificial intelligence.
Chen Da spoke highly of the competition and stated that as the national vocational education highland, Zhejiang has taken the lead in piloting the specialty construction of artificial intelligenceand actively carrying out international cooperation, which conforms to the trend of digital economic development in the province. In 2022, Zhejiang's education industrycontinues to make efforts in the field of artificial intelligence and has successfully built the first national artificial intelligence vocational education alliance. The joint hosting of the International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition by the government, universities, and enterprises will further promote the integration and development of vocational education and artificial intelligence.
The International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition (IYAIC) is currently one of the highest-level international competitions for young and highly talented students in the field of artificial intelligence, with the largest number of participating colleges and universities. The competition has received unanimous recognition from the leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs present, and has injected new vitality into the high-quality development of China's economy in the trend of the integration and development of vocational education and artificial intelligence.
