2012年12月13日，正在美国参加杭州市第十期MPA项目的我校国际合作处吴昌提副处长应邀访问了学校合作伙伴——美国佐治亚州哥伦布技术学院，并参加了该校2012学年秋季学期毕业典礼。
吴昌提分别会见了哥伦布技术学院Jones校长，分管教学、外事以及招生的三位副校长并转达了我校领导的问候，随后参观了哥伦布技术学院的教学设施和实验室。随后，吴昌提与国际教育扩展部主任邦德博士就近期双方合作的方向和方式进行了交流。
当天晚上，盛大的哥伦布技术学院2012秋季学期毕业典礼在哥伦布市会展中心举行。吴昌提代表杭州科技职业技术学院向出席典礼的毕业生及其亲朋好友作了热情洋溢的发言，在对毕业生表示祝贺的同时，也推介了杭州科技职业技术学院以及杭州这座迷人的中国城市。

与我校相似，哥伦布技术学院也是一所以培养实用技术型人才为办学定位的高等职业院校，在佐治亚州众多的技术学院中排名前三甲。我校与哥伦布技术学院于2011年11月2日签署了合作意向书，2012年5月28日正式签署了教育合作备忘录，双方就定期开展师资与学生交流以及学分互认达成了一致意见。刚刚结束在我校一学年教学工作的Amber就是来自该校。

President Jones, distinguished guests, esteemed colleagues, graduates, ladies and gentlemen:
Good evening!
It is, indeed, an honor for me to have the opportunity to attend the 2012 fall semester graduation ceremony of Columbus Technical College. On behalf of Hangzhou Polytechnic, I want to give my special congratulations to you guys who have successfully completed your studies at CTC. I believe your families, friends and all of the CTC staff are now very proud of you.
An international partner of CTC, Hangzhou Polytechinc is located in the capital city of Zhejiang Province in eastern China. Our college commits itself to cultivating specialized talents with high-level skills. We offer a diverse range of innovative, hands-on programs to equip students with the knowledge and skills to excel in the evolving and challenging marketplace.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Hangzhou Polytechnic is proud of having the international partner of CTC. We both have similar missions of providing excellent technical education programs, promoting regional economic development and a globally competitive workforce. The exchange and cooperation between our two institutions are beneficial to increasing mutual understanding, expanding our students’ horizons and improving our education quality. I’m lucky to get involved in the process of partnership, which, I believe, is part of the public diplomacy between the two biggest economies in the world.
Together with CTC, we will advance the teachers and students’ exchange programs. We also expect to explore deeper cooperation opportunities in the future such as jointly offering degree programs.
Lastly, on behalf of Hangzhou Polytechnic, I wish the graduates best of luck. I wish you a bright future, and also I wish that you could one day visit Hangzhou, China.
